Meet Krista

Krista A. H. Haapala started Living Balance in 2005 to focus on coaching people to find their edge and live with passion. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists. She enjoys being in nature, trail running, reading, mountain biking, CrossFit, sailing and letterboxing. Consistent with the philosophy of Living Balance, Krista constantly challenges herself to find her edge. The true joys of her life are her two sons. She finds peace and fulfillment in her partnership with her true love.

Krista has postgraduate training in human sexuality from the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in San Francisco, California. Krista holds a Master of Social Work degree from the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work in Macro Practice. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Public Service from Albion College in Albion, Michigan.

Interests and Balance
In addition to coaching, Krista has fun as a Sexy Mama Blogger for Good Vibrations Magazine. Krista previously has enjoyed being a member of the Adjunct Faculty at the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work, an ice cream scooper, a cheerleading coach, a homeless shelter worker, a professional fundraiser and a community organizer among other things. Krista focuses her volunteer energy on causes supporting greening the world, cancer cures, and feminist progress.

Krista lives with her family in Portland, Maine.
